How to install an Antigravity skill (step by step)

A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file of instructions that the agent follows for a specific kind of task. Installing one means putting that folder where Antigravity looks for skills. Checked against the official skills docs on 2026-10-26.

1. Read the skill before you install it

Open its folder and look at SKILL.md and any scripts/: what commands it asks the agent to run, whether it calls the network or needs an API key. Our listings note this per skill (how we review).

2. Put the folder in the right place

The older .agent/skills folder name still works for backward compatibility.

# Changelog writer

1. Run `git diff --staged --stat` and read the changed files.
2. Group the changes under Added, Changed and Fixed.
3. Add one entry at the top of CHANGELOG.md. Do not edit older entries.

Only two front-matter fields are documented: description (required – the agent matches tasks against it, so say what the skill does and when to use it) and name (optional, lowercase with hyphens; defaults to the folder name).

4. Check that it loaded

• App: start a new conversation and type /changelog-writer in the prompt panel.
• CLI: the skill appears as the slash command /changelog-writer in the interactive terminal UI.
• IDE: open the Customizations menu in the agent side panel; it lists the active skills.

At the start of a conversation the agent only sees each skill's name and description; it reads the full SKILL.md when a task looks relevant. Mention the skill by name if you want to be sure it is used.
